Picture This - A Different Perspective

I love weddings!! Whether I am attending as a guest or the photographer, I can appreciate being surrounded by people who are celebrating love and life.  There is always good vibes, good energy and thoughtful reflections on how life has led to that special moment when the bride and groom exchange vows.

In the past, I have always been the main wedding photographer, meaning I have to be in all places at once to make sure I am documenting everything that unfolds around me.  My senses are constantly on alert for great lighting, voices, actions, and beautiful moments that take place at the blink of an eye.   A few weeks ago, I had the fortunate opportunity to second shoot/assist my friend and amazing photographer Hoyu Yiu as he documented Jiali & Vishal's wedding day.

There wasn't a dry eye at the ceremony and as tempting as it was to post a photo of the parents of the bride and groom weeping as their children exchanged vows, I chose to show this one.

To me, I thought this photo was a unique perspective of what others are seeing and perhaps even feeling when they attend weddings.  I'm not sure who this person was or their relationship with the bride/groom but it is clear that the significance of this moment will remain for years to come.
