In the past, I have always been the main wedding photographer, meaning I have to be in all places at once to make sure I am documenting everything that unfolds around me. My senses are constantly on alert for great lighting, voices, actions, and beautiful moments that take place at the blink of an eye. A few weeks ago, I had the fortunate opportunity to second shoot/assist my friend and amazing photographer Hoyu Yiu as he documented Jiali & Vishal's wedding day.
There wasn't a dry eye at the ceremony and as tempting as it was to post a photo of the parents of the bride and groom weeping as their children exchanged vows, I chose to show this one.
To me, I thought this photo was a unique perspective of what others are seeing and perhaps even feeling when they attend weddings. I'm not sure who this person was or their relationship with the bride/groom but it is clear that the significance of this moment will remain for years to come.
