Looking back at these photos, I can still hear the fluid sounds of the piano coming through. Chris Cooley, a classical pianist who has been playing for many years contacted me one day to set up a photo session. He had me at “I’m looking for imagery that captures my uniqueness and versatility”. I excitedly set up a session with him. I knew that with his artistic background and openness to creative ideas and concepts for his shoot, would make for an awesome session.
We shot part of the session at the Park Avenue Armory; a haven of nostalgic old world décor that made you feeling like you were back in the 18th century. Ideas were buzzing around in my head as soon as I step foot into this amazing space.
Chris began to play the piano as I photographed him. My, my, my I could see and the feel the passion emanating as he played. I saw him get lost in the music as each finger flowed across the piano keys. It was so powerful to see.
I am so inspired by the passion and individuality from the people I photograph. It is the beautiful light from within that makes us who we are. Everyone’s light shines differently and it is always my honor to capture it. Thank you Chris for sharing your passion and light with me; I wish you all the best in your musical career.
