The Journey by Mary Oliver

One day you finally knew

what you had to do, and began,

though the voices around you

kept shouting

their bad advice --

though the whole house

began to tremble

and you felt the old tug

at your ankles.

"Mend my life!"

each voice cried.

But you didn't stop.

You knew what you had to do,

though the wind pried

with its stiff fingers

at the very foundations,

though their melancholy

was terrible.

It was already late

enough, and a wild night,

and the road full of fallen

branches and stones.

But little by little,

as you left their voices behind,

the stars began to burn

through the sheets of clouds,

and there was a new voice

which you slowly

recognized as your own,

that kept you company

as you strode deeper and deeper

into the world,

detemined to do

the only thing you could do --

determined to save

the only life you could save.

Love Is

Love is...

The blueish hue of the morning light through my window pain;
Blackish bronze painted finger nails squeezing the pen, wooshing across the page as I write;
Silence, meditation, stillness in the air;
The hush of a whisper, a laugh or a cry;
An instinctual heart that beats forevermore entering it’s cosmic force into the Universe.

That is what love is.

It gives birth to new ideas, sizes and shapes them to be sent out into the world.
Love is adorned with rose petals and water droplets;

Love creates and love cures.

A Letter To You, From Change

Dear one who is always cautious of me; the one who was bitten by me a few times and now keeps a distance far and wide between us. I’d like to reintroduce myself because I am not the scary inconvenient little boat rocker you think I am.

I am the one who brings light in dismal situations.

I am the one who has been staring you in the face for quite some time even though you seem to think I secretly crept up behind you.

I am the one who visits you when you are ready for me even though you may think you are not.

Hi. My name is Change. Pleased to meet you.

We Are Not Our Thoughts

Hello again and happy Thursday!

I'm excited to share with you my newest video creation where I am speaking on inner awareness; my favorite topic!

Through the video I share how I started my current practice of staying present and how easy it is to be consumed by your thoughts.  Being mentally unconscious is like your thoughts are driving and you're just along for the ride.

It's a daily process of developing one's self-awareness but can be strengthened by practicing this simple exercise that I share with you in the video.

Take a look!

Don't forget to share your thoughts, comments and nuggets of insight with me in the comments below! Until next time!

With Love & Light,

Ariane

Roll The Dice

a poem by Charles Bukowski

If you're going to try, go all the way.

otherwise don't even start.

If you're going to try, go all the way.

this could mean losing girlfriends, wives,

relatives, jobs, and maybe your mind.

go all the way.

it could mean not eating for 3 or 4 days.

it could mean freezing on a park bench.

it could mean jail, it could mean derision,

mockery, isolation.

isolation is the gift, all the others are a

test of your endurance of how much you

really want to do it.

and you'll do it despite rejection and the

worst odds and it will be better than

anything else you can imagine.

if you're going to try, go all the way.

there is no other feeling like that.

you will be alone with the gods

and the nights will flame with fire.

do it, do it, do it. do it.

all the way. all the way.

you will ride life straight to perfect laughter,

it's the only good fight there is.

The Identity of Pain

I became a life coach because I see that we are all in pain. Some of us suffer in silence and keep it all in. Some of us identify with that pain because it’s all we know. Some of us who are in pain suppress it and keep going thinking that one day it will all go away. But that day never comes because we never allow it to. Our feelings of indecision, confusion, overwhelm, and fear all comes from a place inside of us that feels “off”. A place that wants to be healed, touched, recognized, and comforted. We yearn for our pain to be comforted because it hurts so bad. We turn to alcohol, food, technology, and even the people around us to comfort us knowing deep down that it will only fan the flames of our pain.

My heart hurts when I see us hurt in this way. I want so much to hold a mirror up in front of you and show you what I see. A strong unique radiance of who you are; an amazing human being

I know what it feels like to be bought and sold into a dream that is not your own. I know what it feels like to be out of touch or disconnected from that place deep within you that wants something more than what you’ve been settling for. And most of all, I know what the voice of fear sounds like and the paralyzing hold it can have over you. This is the pain I struggled with for years and years. Even today that pain still presents itself. But I must say that over the years that pain has gotten smaller and in some instances unrecognizable. It is unrecognizable, because as the pain melts away, I am beginning to see myself without the identity of pain and thus, the real me.

Pain is an inevitable part of the journey, but suffering is not. We have a choice, everyday and in every moment. For some of us it is not until that pain becomes so unbearable that we take the risk of flying than to keep sinking deeper and deeper into the comfort of our own pain. I cannot promise you that you will not fall or never experience pain again. But what I can promise, it will reveal the identity of who you truly are. A strong beautiful radiant human being who is capable of transcending all pain into love.

30 Days of Gratitude | A Journey...

Expressing gratitude has become a forgotten act where life for a lot of us, myself included, has become a race to just get through the day.  It is the in between moments when we’re racing from one thing to the next that cause us to miss out on the things that truly bring us happiness.
